Juan Martin Del Potro to beat Nikolay Davydenko |
1.72 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.72 (Pinnacle Sports) Del Potro, in our eyes, is the superior player in this tournament this week. He is 1-2 against Davydenko lifetime but his play has really picked up in the last few months. With the Argentine narrowly escaping in his last match against Soderling, he has a second life and will be loose, making him more dangerous. More firepower on his serve and groundstrokes we feel he has than the Russian. |
| Nov 14, 2009 |
Gael Monfils to beat Radek Stepanek |
1.80 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.80 (Pinnacle Sports) Monfils is 2-1 against Radek with both victories being on hard court and the lone loss being on clay. Radek has had a great week taking out Andy Murray but we see his run coming to end against the home town favourite. Monfils win in the quarters against the hard serving Cilic should be a great advantage and confidence booster for him going against the hard serving and attacking Stepanek. We like Monfils. |
| Nov 11, 2009 |
Tomas Berdych to beat Tommy Robredo |
1.60 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.60 (Pinnacle Sports) Berdych has a 3-2 winning record against Tommy and is 2-1 against him on hard courts. Berdych has won this Paris event in the past and his game definitely is more suited to the faster indoor courts. Tommy is a great fighter but feel that Berdych's power and better serve will be the difference. |
| Nov 09, 2009 |
Victor Hanescu to beat Albert Montanes |
1.44 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.44 (Pinnacle Sports) Hanescu we feel is a superior hard court and especially indoor player in this matchup. Victor is 5-1 against Montanes in their head to heads, having won the last four meetings. Montanes's serve will give Victor plenty of chances to break and Albert's tendency to play deep in the court will be advantageous to the more attacking style of Hanescu. We see the Romanian advancing. |
| Nov 07, 2009 |
Andy Murray to beat Fernando Verdasco |
1.58 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.58 (Pinnacle Sports) Big price on Murray here where he is 6-1 lifetime against Fernando. He lost to him at the Aussie Open at the start of this year but then avenged it in Miami with a 6-2 6-1 routing. Murray plays well indoors and has indoor titles under his belt. The indoor surface allows him tto use his opponent's pace and it also helps him get a bit bigger pop on his own serve. He will have plenty of pace to work with against Fernando and we like him to advance. |
| Nov 05, 2009 |
Stanislas Wawrinka to beat Jarkko Nieminen |
1.30 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.30 (Pinnacle Sports) Wawrinka just disposed of Lyon's Champion last week, Ljubicic, and is playing in his home country which should get him fired up. Nieminen has dropped outside of the top 100 with inconsistent play this year that we haven't seen from him before. We like Stanislas to advance. |
| Nov 02, 2009 |
Viktor Troicki to beat Benjamin Becker |
1.53 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.53 (Pinnacle Sports) Troicki is a great fast indoor court player who has come on lately with his final showing in Bangkok recently. Benjamin Becker has continued to lose in first round encounters and is struggling big time with his confidence. Against Greul, Becker was up 4-1 in the third and then proceeded to lose 7-5 in the third in what looked like a match that he would for sure win. We like Viktor in this one. |
| Oct 30, 2009 |
Victor Hanescu to beat Igor Kunitsyn |
1.63 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.63 (Pinnacle Sports) Hanescu beat him in their lone meeting on clay and we see Victor as simply the better player. Kunitsyn had a good run winning his lone ATP title in Russia around this time last year but feel that his run will come to an end. He is also a disappointing 13-29 on the year. We see Victor having the advantage in serving and from the baseline. We like the Romanian in this encounter. |
| Oct 26, 2009 |
Arnaud Clement to beat Oscar Hernandez |
1.35 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.35 (Pinnacle Sports) Clement is a good fast court player and had a good week in Stockholm last week with wins over Andreas Beck and Berrer after having somewhat of a sub par year for his track record. Hernandez is a clay court specialist whose game does not suit the indoor surface. He doesn't have a big serve and Arnaud will have lots of opportunities to break. We like the Frenchman to advance. |
| Oct 21, 2009 |
Joachim Johansson to beat Juan Monaco |
1.47 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.47 (Pinnacle Sports) The big serving Swede is back once again from injury and he is playing great. He has beaten Hewitt on his return and went three sets with Gasquet. Nice win over Luczak in his first match. The indoor courts favour his big game and the Argentine Monaco can't be looking forward to having to deal with his game style. We like the Swede to advance. |
| Oct 19, 2009 |
Simon Greul to beat Benjamin Becker |
1.86 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.86 (Pinnacle Sports) Greul is having a solid year with a Challenger win recently and a few good wins in Asia on hard courts over C. Rochus and Vassallo Arguello and had a tough three set loss to Berdych. Becker has been on a bad skid having lost six first rounds in a row and being 12-15 on the year with a tour title in Holland on grass which helps to pad this record. We like Greul to continue Becker's slide and advance. |
| Oct 16, 2009 |
Novak Djokovic to beat Nikolay Davydenko |
1.43 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.43 (Pinnacle Sports) This is a tough matchup but we like Novak to continue his hot streak at the end of this season, similar to how he ended last year on a hot note winning the Masters Cup. He has only lost to Federer in his last four tournaments and is really routing guys. Nikolay is playing well too but has lost his last two against Novak. Davydenko's lone win was a retirement late in the match. Bit of a short price but we like Djokovic. |
| Oct 14, 2009 |
Nikolay Davdyenko to beat Fernando Gonzalez |
1.54 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.54 (Pinnacle Sports) Davydenko has his sights set on the ATP World Tour Finals, which only allows the top eight players in, and he is really surging lately, having won in Kuala Lumpur, and getting to the quarters in Beijing. He holds a 5-0 record against Gonzalez including three straight hard court wins. Fernando is a tough customer but has trouble getting over mental blocks as he appears to have with Davydenko. We like the Russian to continue his good form. |
| Oct 12, 2009 |
Viktor Troicki to beat Juan Monaco |
1.57 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.57 (Pinnacle Sports) Troicki had that great run in Bangkok, getting to the finals. This is an outdoor event but feel his hard court play is superior to that of the clay courter Monaco. Juan has had some good results on hard courts but not recently. His 5-0 default win over Garcia-Lopez in Tokyo was his first hard court win since Miami in March although he primarily plays on clay. Troicki has the win the only time these two played in New Zealand earlier this year. We like Troicki. |
| Oct 08, 2009 |
Tomas Berdych to beat Mikhail Youzhny |
1.65 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.65 (Pinnacle Sports) When Berdych gets on a roll, he is a tough guy to beat. As the defending champion of this Tokyo tournament, he has now won 7 straight matches here which have included wins over Roddick and Del Potro. These two have a long history against each other but Tomas has won the last two encounters. Youzhny had a good win over Gilles Simon last round but we still the Czech being too strong on serve and from the backcourt. |
| Oct 05, 2009 |
Richard Gasquet to beat Philipp Petzschner |
1.44 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.44 (Pinnacle Sports) Gasquet, since his return from the drug suspension, has finally got in some matches and results in his last two tournaments with semi-final and quarter-final showings. One of these wins was a three set win over Petzschner. Richard is a much better player than Philipp and has more consistency than the German. We like him to advance. |
| Oct 02, 2009 |
Gilles Simon to beat Jurgen Melzer |
1.58 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.58 (Pinnacle Sports) Simon has really been playing better since the Masters Series event in Canada. He fought off a hard hitting Korolev in three tough sets which we like where as Melzer has been cruising. Simon has a great return of serve and we feel he will be able to handle Jurgen's lefty serve just like he did indoors against Feliciano Lopez last year when he beat him in straight sets. Simon has a lot of points to defend from last year at this time and we see him eyeing this tournament as a way to get some of those points back on the board. We like Gillers in this encounter. |
| Sep 28, 2009 |
Marcos Baghdatis to beat Yen-Hsun Lu |
1.49 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.49 (Pinnacle Sports) Baghdatis is starting to come around in form and Lu has only won two main draw matches on the Tour since Miami in March. Lu has been battling injuries and we see Baghdatis being too sharp and eager to take advantage of his wild card in this one as he is eager to regain his old form and ranking. |
| Sep 24, 2009 |
Daniel Koellerer to beat Simon Greul |
1.80 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.80 (Pinnacle Sports) Koellerer is one of the most improved players on tour and has won the last three meetings against Greul, having lost the first two. He beat him just recently in a Challenger which he won and had an impressive third round showing at the US Open before losing in four sets to eventual champion Del Potro. This won't be an easy matchup but we feel that Koellerer is simply a better player. |
| Sep 22, 2009 |
Jarkko Nieminen to beat Sebastien Grosjean |
1.45 |
VOID |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.45 (Pinnacle Sports) Nieminen is only 10-12 this year and has struggled but is a solid indoor player who fights for every match. Grosjean last won a tour match against Starace at Wimbledon last year and received a wild card into this tournament. He has only played in three tournaments this year and has retired in two of them. We can't see Sebastien being sharp and see him struggling against a real workhorse who is looking to end the season strongly. These two have played twice with Nieminen losing the first match but winning the second. We like Jarkko to advance. |
| Sep 06, 2009 |
Robin Soderling to beat Nikolay Davydenko |
1.69 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.69 (Pinnacle Sports) Soderling is coming off a big win over the red hot Sam Querrey and has beaten Davydenko in their last three meetings including a straight set win at the French Open this year. Robin can be moody but has turned a big corner this year with his play especially in the big events. He has more weapons than Nikolay and over this best of five set match, see him advancing. |
| Sep 04, 2009 |
Pablo Cuevas to beat Daniel Koellerer |
1.49 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.49 (Pinnacle Sports) Cuevas is 2-0 against the crazy Austrian with a win this year over him, although both were on clay. Cuevas has shown some great form lately, as he won four matches in New Haven and had a solid win over Guccionne in the first round. Koellerer will fight hard but we feel Cuevas will be too good in this matchup. |
| Sep 01, 2009 |
Dudi Sela to beat Kevin Kim |
1.36 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.36 (Pinnacle Sports) Sela the last time that he played Kim in a Challenger in Vancouver he disposed of him 6-3, 6-0. Kim has reached the top 100 mainly by doing well in the Challenger ranks. Sela, even though he hasn't posted any great results since leading Israel over Russia in Davis Cup a few months back, is a much better player and over five sets, we like him to advance. |
| Aug 31, 2009 |
Leonardo Mayer to beat Andrey Golubev |
1.49 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.49 (Pinnacle Sports) We like the Argentine to take this first round encounter. He is grittier and will be busting himself each point whereas the Russian is much more up and down. Golubev has had two straight losses in straight sets whereas Mayer picked up three good wins in New Haven. Mayer's serve will be advantageous as well on the faster hard courts. |
| |
Simon Greul to beat Giovanni Lapentti |
1.96 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.96 (Pinnacle Sports) Greul plays primarily on clay courts but don't underestimate his hard court skills. Wins this year over Isner, Crivoi, and Gilles Muller on hard show he can get it done. Lapentti had a good run through qualies but we don't see him continuing with a win here. His career has been more down than up and with this match being one of his biggest, we are siding with the 65th ranked Greul and his experience. |
| Aug 25, 2009 |
Leonardo Mayer to beat Olivier Rochus |
1.73 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.73 (Pinnacle Sports) Mayer won his first round handily over Denis Istomin and was suppose to play David Ferrer in the next round but he has pulled out allowing Rochus to get in as a lucky loser. Rochus lost in the last round of qualies to Pablo Cuevas in straight sets. Mayer has had some solid wins this summer on hard courts over Zverev and Kunitsyn while Olivier has been playing mainly on clay. Even without this fact, Mayer we feel is grittier and is a more talented player than the Belgium. |
| Aug 23, 2009 |
Roger Federer to beat Novak Djokovic |
1.50 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.50 (Pinnacle Sports) Federer leads this head to head 7-4 but most importantly got a huge monkey off his back today with a big win over Andy Murray in straight sets having lost his last four matches against him. We see him capturing this Cincy title for a third time. Novak had a convincing win over Nadal, but who in our eyes, is still rusty and isn't the same confident self as he was when he won the Aussie Open at the start of this year. We like Roger in the finals. |
| Aug 19, 2009 |
Ivo Karlovic to beat Paul-Henri Mathieu |
1.55 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.55 (Pinnacle Sports) The price is a little short but we see Ivo winning this one. He is 1-0 against Mathieu in Tour events with a win in straight sets on clay. Ivo just had a great win over the talented Monfils. Mathieu barely escaped Zverev in three sets in the first round. The sets will be close but we see the big man from Croatia advancing in the same tournament where he beat Federer last year and got to the semi-finals. |
| Aug 17, 2009 |
Jeremy Chardy to beat Tommy Robredo |
1.81 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.81 (Pinnacle Sports) Chardy has a lot of fire power which we feel will get him by Tommy. Robredo is 1-0 against the french man but that was last year and Jeremy has improved since then and Tommy and his results have not. Tommy has lost four of his last five matches and will struggle with the Frenchman's serve and groundstrokes. |
| Aug 11, 2009 |
Tomas Berdych to beat Philip Kohlschreiber |
1.70 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.70 (Pinnacle Sports) Berdych is 5-0 lifetime in Challenger and Tour event matches against Philip with two of those wins on hard court. Kohlschreiber hasn't played on hard courts since Miami in March and lost first round in his last outing. Berdych lost in three tough sets to the upstart Isner in the quarters in DC last week and will definitely have the more confidence coming into this match. |
| Aug 10, 2009 |
Jeremy Chardy to beat Yen-Hsun Lu |
1.37 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.37 (Pinnacle Sports) Chardy is in a different class skill wise than Lu. Jeremy won his first tournament last month and will be ready to impress his French fans in Montreal. Lu has not won an ATP tour match since Miami in March and we don't see that streaking ending against the talented French man. |
| |
Peter Polansky to beat Bruno Agostinelli, Jr. |
1.28 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.28 (Pinnacle Sports) Two Canadian wild cards are playing each other for a chance at reaching the second round of a Masters Series event. Polansky is ranked 226 while Bruno is ranked in the 1,000. Polansky will be eager to advance with this opportunity and his wins over Nicolas Massu, and Olivier Rochus this year prove that he can play some great tennis and should take care of the up and coming Agostinelli in his biggest match to date. |
| Aug 05, 2009 |
Viktor Troicki to beat Marc Gicquel |
1.65 |
VOID |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.65 (Pinnacle Sports) Troicki hasn't had any hard court activity since the earlier part of this year but we don't feel that that will be a disadvantage. Viktor got to the finals of this event last year with a win over Roddick and the hard courts suit is hard groudstrokes and serve. Gicquel is coming off a loss to Carsten Ball in LA and a three set win over a wild card from Poland in the first round here. Gicquel did beat Troicki in their only meeting at the French Open in 2008 but we don't read much into this with the match being on hard courts. |
| Jul 27, 2009 |
Paul-Henri Mathieu to beat Marcos Daniel |
1.52 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.52 (Pinnacle Sports) Mathieu is 1-0 against Daniel, although that was years ago. Pretty good price on Mathieu who is the more skilled and dangerous player and who just reached the final in Hamburg on clay. Mathieu is a streaky player too so he will be confident. Daniel has had some good Challenger results on clay but doesn't have that many weapons to hurt Mathieu, which we like. Daniel is coming from the States, having played in Indy, so the changed of surface is just icing on the cake when we take Mathieu. We see Mathieu advancing. |
| Jul 24, 2009 |
Robby Ginepri to beat Alex Bogomolov |
1.48 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.48 (Pinnacle Sports) Ginepri has not had a good year by any stretch of the imagination but he has two three set wins this week and with him being such a streaky player and a past winner at this Indianopolis event, we have a very hard time seeing him losing to Bogomolov. Alex has had a great week qualifying, and beating Dudi Sela along the way. Bogomolov, though, doesn't have any big weapons but does have good speed. This, though, against a confident Ginepri we feel will not be enough as Robby will be very eager to advance to his first semi-final of the year and first since Vegas in February 2008. |
| Jul 23, 2009 |
Paul-Henri Mathieu to beat Daniel Brands |
1.69 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.69 (Pinnacle Sports) Mathieu is one of the better ball strikers in the game and hasn't lost to anyone of Brand's ranking all year. (Brands is currently No. 120) Paul-Henri had a tough three set win over qualifier Pere Riba, who is going to be a good clay courter coming up. We like the fact that he narrowly escaped and will be a little more relaxed against Brands. These two played last year in Germany on clay and Mathieu won in straight sets. Brands has had two good wins this week against Crivoi and Simon, although Simon has been losing a lot and is only a top ten player in the rankings now, and not on the court. Simon's ranking will be dropping shortly. Brands had a good semi-final showing in Munich this year but that is all really has far as top notch activity to compare with Mathieu. This will be a tough encounter but think the market is a little rushed to put Brand's stock up so much and see Mathieu seizing this opportunity in Hamburg. |
| Jul 22, 2009 |
David Ferrer to beat Florian Mayer |
1.32 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.32 (Pinnacle Sports) David Ferrer has dropped a bit from his top ten form a few years back but is still a great player who brings his all each match. Mayer, who received a wild card into the event, beat Schuettler in the first round, who has had erratic play since his surprise semi-finalist appearance at Wimbledon last year. These two have played twice and are 2-2 but Ferrer has won the last two with Mayer's wins over Ferrer being four and five years ago. Ferrer will be hungry after his tough five set loss to Stepanek at Wimbledon in his last outing and we look for him to advance with his more skilled game. |
| Jul 19, 2009 |
Jeremy Chardy to beat Victor Hanescu |
1.74 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.74 (Pinnacle Sports) Two guys playing well but we see Chardy taking the title in Stuttgart. These two have played twice before with Hanescu beating him on clay last year when he was red hot and he won his first title of his career. But Chardy, who has improved his play since last year, beat him this year on hard courts. Straight set wins over a hot Zverev this week and Kiefer were impressive and slightly more impressive than Hanescu's three set win over Fognini. Finals can be tough to call but we really like the talented Frenchman Chardy to pick up his first career title in this one. |
| Jul 14, 2009 |
Nicolas Kiefer to beat Simon Greul |
1.44 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.44 (Bet365) The opportunistic Kiefer had a great win first round beating Berdych, although Tomas was probably burned out a bit from Davis Cup but none the less a rock solid win. Greul upset Beck in the first round which is a good win but Beck was also coming off Davis Cup and is an up and down player. Kiefer has battled injuries the last year or so but can still play and this is a class difference in our eyes as Kiefer will be eager to advance to the quarters of this big tournament in his home country. |
| Jul 13, 2009 |
Guillermo Garcia-Lopez to beat Mischa Zverev |
1.84 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.84 (Pinnacle Sports) Garcia-Lopez we feel is a better clay courter in this matchup. Zverev did get to the quarters of Rome this year but we see that as being a bit of a one off. Zverev has lost his last four clay matches and is 0-1 against Garcia-Lopez, losing to him on clay last year. Guillermo, if you have ever watched him play, is just an incredible ball striker and the fact that his ranking is not higher is a crime but he did win his first tournament this year in Austria and is starting to fulfill some of his amazing promise. We see that he has turned a corner in his career and will advance. |
| Jul 09, 2009 |
Philipp Petzschner to beat Jesse Levine |
2.06 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 2.06 (Pinnacle Sports) Petzschner is a great fast court player and good grass courter. This grass court season, he has wins over Mischa Zverev and Fernando Verdasco. Levine had a good win over the erratic Safin at Wimbledon but also has losses to Sergei Bubka and Edouard Roger-Vasselin on grass as well this season and we see him as being a bit overrated in this match. Petzschner had a three setter in his first round match but we expect him to really be hungry in this matchup against a lower ranked player. Petzschner is the more talented player and to more than double your money, it is a great play. |
| Jul 06, 2009 |
Taylor Dent to beat Marcos Daniel |
1.25 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.25 (Pinnacle Sports) Taylor Dent's game is built for grass and showed this form by qualifying for Wimbledon before having a bit of letdown in the first round. Dent beat Daniel this year on clay and will be more than happy to take the Brazilian on in these conditions. A bit short for our likings normally but we will be happy to take the win anyway. |
| Jun 28, 2009 |
Andy Roddick to beat Tomas Berdych |
1.57 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.57 (Pinnacle Sports) We feel that Roddick is looking at this as one of his last chances to do damage at this tournament. With Nadal out, the winner of this match plays Hewitt\Stepanek. So a huge opportunity to say the least for the American. Roddick has had a great year and has only lost to Federer, Nadal, Stepanek and Murray on hard courts this year. Larry Stefanski really has him playing much more confidently than in year's past. Berdych has been playing well this tournament but hasn't faced anyone near as dangerous as Andy. The two are 2-2 on head to head's but in the big matches, Andy is much more clutch and Berdych can often just disappear from big matches. |
| Jun 26, 2009 |
Marin Cilic to beat Tommy Haas |
2.29 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 2.29 (Pinnacle Sports) Tommy Haas has been hot lately as he was up two sets to zero on Federer in the French Open and then he just won Halle over Djokovic in the final. But he struggles with big servers (hence 1-4 against Karlovic and losing his first round first set to big serving Alexander Peya) and Cilic has one of the bigger serves around. Cilic had a big five set win over Querrey which we feel will only help him in this match as any nerves Marin might have had are now all gone. Haas is streaky and overall, hasn't had near the results that Cilic has in the past year and a half. Tommy will struggle with the rhythm on his groundstrokes as the big man from Croatia pressures him with his serve, forehand and volleys. Cilic is clutch and we feel he will pull the minor upset. |
| Jun 25, 2009 |
Lleyton Hewiit to beat Juan Martin Del Potro |
3.15 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 3.15 (Pinnacle Sports) This is a big call but we feel that Del Potro is not totally proven on grass and Hewitt is once again showing some good form. Hewitt lost in the third round in Queen's in two tiebreakers to Roddick and demolished Ginepri who can be affective when playing well in the first round. Del Potro didn't play any grass warm up tournaments and routed Clement in the first round which doesn't show a whole lot. Last year before Del Potro went on his run of winning four tournaments in a row, he lost to Ferrer in Holland on grass in straight sets in the semi's and then Wawrinka in the second round of Wimbledon. Hewitt, the former champion, will be very hungry and we like him to pull the upset. |
| Jun 24, 2009 |
Marin Cilic to beat Samuel Querrey |
1.44 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.44 (Pinnacle Sports) Cilic is a great fast court player and is very clutch against players ranked below him. Querrey beat Udomchoke in the first round and lost to Istomin in a grass court warmup event. Querrey even with his big serve still struggles on grass we feel compared with Cilic who feels more comfortable on it. Cilic has been on a roll this year and is a big event player. Over five sets, we like the Croat to advance. |
| Jun 23, 2009 |
Paul-Henri Mathieu to beat Frederico Gil |
1.40 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.40 (Pinnacle Sports) Mathieu is a great shot maker who has had some success on grass. He reached the fourth round in '07 with wins over Ferrer, Ljubicic and Stepanek. He has a big first serve and hits through the ball well. This will cause problems for the clay courter Gil who primarily plays on clay. Gil did take the opening set off of Hewitt in Queen's but lost 6-2 6-2 there after. Mathieu will have too much firepower in this match. |
| Jun 22, 2009 |
Simon Greul to beat Michael Yani |
1.61 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.61 (Pinnacle Sports) Greul had good qualifying wins at Wimbledon defeating the big serving South African in Kevin Anderson and the crafty Karol Beck who is a dangerous fast court player who used to be as high as 36 in the world before he was banned for failing a drug test a few years back. Yani is ranked in the mid 200's and to say that this is his best accomplishment thus far is an understatement. He had a good win over Armitraj in the last round of qualies but we feel that Greul's experience and skill will be the difference and the fact that Simon has already played many Grand Slam matches. Greul will be hungry to win his first Grand Slam match and they don't come much better than Michael Yani. |
| |
Frank Dancevic to beat Steve Darcis |
1.63 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.63 (Pinnacle Sports) Frank's best shot is his serve and this helps him a lot on grass. Dancevic has had some great grass court results, as he won the Surbiton grass court Challenger last year, beat Nalbandian in the opening round of Wimby, and reached the semi's of the Newport ATP event. He is also coming off the finals of Eastbourne, with great wins over Andreev and Santoro. Darcis got to the quarters of Queen's but beat two clay courters and received a walkover over Monfils so not much there. He then lost first round to Gicquel in Holland last week. Frank is on a roll and we like him to advance. |
| Jun 18, 2009 |
Dmitry Tursunov to beat Denis Istomin |
1.57 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.57 (Pinnacle Sports) Tursunov is a good grass court player having reached the fourth round of Wimbledon. His short backswings and crisp groundstrokes make him very dangerous. Istomin is an up and comer and had a good win over Querrey last round but Sam isn't as good as grass courter as you might think even though he has a big serve. Dmitry has struggled in three sets in his first two rounds but him narrowly escaping we feel makes the Russian more dangerous as he loosens up. We see Istomin's run ending. |
| Jun 15, 2009 |
Marcos Baghdatis to beat Tommy Robredo |
1.65 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.65 (Pinnacle Sports) Baghdatis's ranking has slipped to just under a 100 but he is still a big time player who performs well in the big tournaments. Wimbledon is an event that he got to the fourth round last year, and has got to the quarters and semi-finals previously. His short backswings and quick movement help him on grass. Robredo does not fair well on grass exiting quickly in Wimbledon and only beating players much lower ranked without any weapons. Baghdatis has great weapons and we see him improving on a close loss to Youzhny last week on grass. Marcos is 2-0 against Tommy and this will only help his confidence. |
| Jun 11, 2009 |
Benjamin Becker to beat Olivier Rochus |
1.60 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.60 (Pinnacle Sports) Becker has been on a roll as of late after struggling for many months. He is coming into this match having won 21 of his last 22 matches, which included two Challenger wins and a finals showing. He has had two good wins this week over Hanescu and last year's surprise Wimbledon semi-finalist, Rainer Schuettler. Benjamin is 1-0 against Rochus with the win being on grass two years ago. Rochus's ranking has dipped to number 136 so he had to qualify for this event. No good wins this week except over Philipp Petzschner last round. Becker has an excellent fast court game and when he is confident like he is now, he is a better player than Rochus in our eyes. |
| Jun 10, 2009 |
Guillermo Garcia-Lopez to beat Gilles Muller |
1.67 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.67 (Pinnacle Sports) Garcia-Lopez is our man again today. The Spaniard is better shooter in our eyes against Muller. Guillermo has played the man from Luxembourg twice in the last two years on hard courts and has come through. Muller has not done much since reaching the quarter-finals of the US Open last year and has been battling injuries. A first round win over lowly ranked Joshua Goodall was hard fought for Muller and we feel that the better playing Spaniard will advance. |
| Jun 08, 2009 |
Guillermo Garcia-Lopez to beat Yen-Hsun Lu |
1.55 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.55 (Pinnacle Sports) Garcia-Lopez won his first tournament right before Roland Garros and his huge potential is looking like it might be realized. Garcia-Lopez has had solid wins on grass including Ferrer and holding match points on Djokovic. Lu has had some injury issues and even so, isn't the skill that Guillermo is. We like the Spaniard to advance. |
| May 31, 2009 |
Juan Martin Del Potro to beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga |
1.55 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.55 (Pinnacle Sports) Del Potro is 2-0 against Tsonga and we feel that Jo-Wilfried's run at the French is coming to an end. Del Potro is looking impressive winning all of matches in straight sets with his last over a solid Andreev. It turns out that Monaco was banged up against Tsonga unfortuntely for our sake and has shoulder problems that we didn't know about until now. Del Potro is too solid on clay for the Frenchman. |
| May 30, 2009 |
Jeremy Chardy to beat Tommy Haas |
1.49 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.49 (Pinnacle Sports) A little short price here with Chardy but this up and coming French man is the real deal. Tommy Haas is unpredictable and is past his prime and came nearly close to losing to Leonardo Mayer in the 2nd round. Chardy already has a win over Haas this year on hard courts and the home crowd should bring him home. |
| May 28, 2009 |
Juan Monaco to beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga |
1.68 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.68 (Pinnacle Sports) Monaco routed Baghdatis in the first round and is playing some great tennis again after coming back from a long layoff with injuries. Clay court wins over Murray, Cilic and Ferrer back up his claim to being a near top 10 clay court player. Tsonga looked out of sorts against Benneteau, as he struggled being consistent and opportunistic. Tsonga's game is dangerous on any surface but over five sets, Monaco should prove too be consistent and mentally tough for the Frenchman. They played at the Aussie Open this year, which Tsonga won, but that result can be thrown out. |
| May 26, 2009 |
Victor Crivoi to beat Simon Greul |
1.76 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.76 (Pinnacle Sports) Crivoi is a young Romanian that in our eyes is a better clay courter than Greul. Crivoi played the French Open last year and quallified and lost to David Marrero in the first round. A great sign that he is improving at a great rate is he beat Marrero in the first round of qualies and one two more matches against solid players in Lukas Rosol and Rajeev Ram. Greul qualified too but no great wins of note. Great wins for Crivoi over Blake, Lapentti and Fognini this year on clay really show his skills. Greul won their lone meeting in South Africa this year on hard courts in altitude but just like Montcourt's 0-3 losing record on hard courts against Lu, we feel this result can be thrown out the window with this match on clay. |
| May 23, 2009 |
Mathieu Montcourt to beat Yen-Hsun Lu |
1.40 |
VOID |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.40 (Stan James) Montcourt is a much better clay courter than Lu. Mathieu has come through qualies with good wins over Ventura and Prodon and he lost in the finals to Gicquel in three sets in the final of a Challenger previously. Lu has not done much lately on clay and has only played one clay match this year which was a 2 and 1 loss to Frederico Gil. |
| May 20, 2009 |
Victor Hanescu to beat Marcel Granollers |
1.65 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.65 (Pinnacle Sports) Hanescu got to the semi's of Kitzbuel last year right after he won his first ATP tour title. He likes the altitude at this tournament as it favours his big serve and shot making. A big win over Nicolas Lapentti in the first round, who is also very dangreous in altitude, and has had a very solid clay season so far. Granollers has been quite sketchy on clay since winning the ATP Houston event over Blake in the finals last year. Hanescu is 1-0 against Granollers with the win being on clay two years ago. |
| May 19, 2009 |
Robin Soderling to beat Samuel Querrey |
1.40 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.40 (Pinnacle Sports) Soderling had a good win over Gilles Simon in his first match in this team event that he led Sweden to the tile in last year. He is 2-0 against Querrey on hard court, which is Sam's best surface. Querrey had a solid win over Schuettler in his opening match but Schuettler is more of a hard court player anyway. We like Sod to be hungry to defend his country's title that he won them last year. |
| May 12, 2009 |
Jeremy Chardy to beat Jose Acasuso |
1.62 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.62 (Pinnacle Sports) Chardy is coming off a great week, beating Cilic and Kiefer and losing in three to the winner, Berdych. He has a big serve and forehand and will like the altitude and indoor conditions in Madrid. Acasuso is struggling, having won once in his last 9 matches. Jose can be dangerous but Chardy with his youth we like to advance. |
| May 08, 2009 |
Tomas Berdych to beat Lleyton Hewitt |
2.13 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 2.13 (Pinnacle Sports) Berdych isn't having a super year after almost taking out Federer at the start at the Aus Open. But he is solid on clay and we feel is better than Hewitt on the dirt. Lleyton won in Houston on clay but it wasn't on european clay and he wasn't playing against a talent on clay as Berdych is. Berdych had a good win over the talented Andreas Beck in his last match and is 1-0 against Hewitt, beating him on hard courts three years ago. |
| May 07, 2009 |
Albert Montanes to beat Simon Greul |
1.40 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.40 (Pinnacle Sports) Montanes is a solid dirt baller and even though Albert disappointed us with his loss earlier this year to Gimeno-Traver, has had nice clay wins over Almagro, Gil, and Starace since. Greul is a journeyman who has never broken the top 75 even though his game indicates that he shouldn. No notable wins for him this year. He won his first round over a qualifier but see him going down to the more experienced Montanes. |
| May 05, 2009 |
Guillermo Canas to beat Marcos Daniel |
1.63 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.63 (Pinnacle Sports) Canas hasn't had a great year by any stretch of the imagination posting just a 3-9 record but we feel he will take out Daniel. Canas play has improved in the last month, with wins over Blake, Dent and Gremelmayr on clay, his favourite surface. Daniel won a Challenger this year but is 0-4 in Tour events and had a bad clay loss to Dent last month and was routed by Machado in his last outing. Canas has played Daniel twice and he won both matchces in straight sets on clay against him. Canas isn't as good as he used to be but we see him being good enough to advance to the second round. |
| May 04, 2009 |
Oscar Hernandez to beat Rui Machado |
1.73 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.73 (Pinnacle Sports) Hernandez is a solid veteran who always comes to play. Solid wins this year on clay include wins over Benneteau, Schwank, and Almagro. He is a tough guy to take down on clay and we see the chances of Machado winning being very slim. The wild card has won two Challengers on clay but has some dodgy losses to some almost unknowns such as Ouahab and Jaziri. We like Oscar's experience in this one. |
| Apr 30, 2009 |
Stanislas Wawrinka to beat Juan Martin Del Potro |
1.78 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.78 (Pinnacle Sports) Wawrinka is very reliable and dependable, especially on clay. He is defending a finals showing in this tournament from last year and will be hungry to defend those points. A nice showing in Monte Carlo getting to the semis and losing in three to Djokovic last week. Del Potro is a premier player now but is showing some signs of inconsistencies of late in losing to Ljubicic in Monte Carlo and a three setter with an unimpressive clay courter in Troicki today. Wawrinka boasts a 2-0 record against Del Potro including a win over him last year. |
| Apr 27, 2009 |
Andreas Seppi to beat Sam Querrey |
1.44 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.44 (Pinnacle Sports) Seppi is playing in his favourite part of the season; on clay and in his home country. He will be happy to be playing an American even though he did lose to Querrey on clay last year at Monte Carlo, when Querrey had that freak clay result getting to the quarters. We don't see this happening again and we see Seppi winning. Querrey is also having injury issues as he had to pull out of Houston. |
| Apr 21, 2009 |
Diego Junqueira to beat Gaston Gaudio |
1.72 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.72 (Pinnacle Sports) Junqueira had a great clay season last year, winning three clay Challengers and losing in three other clay Challenger finals. Gaudio is on another farewell tour, having only played in two matches last year and has played in six tournaments this year posting a 4-5 record in all matches at all levels. Gaudio has serving problems these days and accepted a wild card into this tournament. Even though Gaudio beat Junqueira two years ago, we like Diego to be too skilled and in form for Gaston. |
| Apr 20, 2009 |
Nicolas Devilder to beat Christophe Rochus |
1.49 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.49 (Pinnacle Sports) Devilder is a solid clay courter with a big forehand. Rochus in a streaky player when playing well is dangerous but he is really not in good form. Devilder has won his last two matches on clay and went three sets with Andreev in Casablanca two weeks ago. He won three Challengers on clay last year and we see him being eager to get his season turned around against Rochus, who had an awful showing last week in Monte Carlo against 263rd ranked wild card Jean-Rene Lisnard. |
| Apr 16, 2009 |
Simone Bolelli to beat Ivan Ljubicic |
1.75 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.75 (Pinnacle Sports) Bolelli has posted two good wins this week over Soderling and Tipsarevic, who had taken out Monfils in the first round. Ljubicic had a huge win over Del Potro in three sets today but is playing on his weakest surface. Ivan is not the danger he once was. He reached the quarters of Indian Wells but minus this result, was just 3-7 before this tournament. Bolelli handled Tipsarevic's big serve and 8 ace onslaught today and we see him handling Ivan's serve much the same way. Bolelli is a much better back court player and has an advantage in youth as well. |
| Apr 13, 2009 |
Andreas Seppi to beat Jurgen Melzer |
1.67 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.67 (Pinnacle Sports) Seppi is 1-0 against Melzer and had a great run on clay last year, getting to the semis of Hamburg. Melzer has had a rough year going 4-10 and had a bad loss to Odesnik last week. Seppi is much more solid on the dirt and we see Melzer continuing to struggle. |
| Apr 09, 2009 |
Marc Gicquel to beat Mischa Zverev |
1.54 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.54 (Pinnacle Sports) Gicquel is a much better clay court player than Zverev plain and simple. Zverev's best results are on hard courts and carpet. Zverev was only 3-9 in Tour events on clay last year and beat a qualifier yesterday in three sets. Gicquel got to two quarter-finals in 2008 of Tour events on clay and two solid clay wins over Troicki and Del Potro. Gicquel takes advantage of a great second round matchup for him. |
| Apr 07, 2009 |
Marcos Daniel to beat Taylor Dent |
1.63 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.63 (Pinnacle Sports) Marcos Daniel won three Challengers on clay last year and has won one this year as well. He also got to the quarters of this Houston event last year taking out Troicki and Massu along the way. He is a seasoned veteran on clay. Dent, on the other day, only has two wins and 11 losses on clay since 2002 and last played a clay event in 2004 at Roland Garros. His serve and volley game will be put to the test on the slow clay and we see Daniel advancing. |
| Apr 06, 2009 |
Wayne Odesnik to beat Kevin Anderson |
1.49 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.49 (Pinnacle Sports) Odesnik is loving this time of the year with the clay season just starting up. He got to the semi-finals last year and is one of the best American clay courters. Andeson has a big game but has really cooled off since beating Djokovic last year in Miami. On the slow clay in Houston, Wayne advances. |
| Mar 28, 2009 |
Janko Tipsarevic to beat Jurgen Melzer |
1.95 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.95 (Pinnacle Sports) Tipsarevic hasn't had a strong year yet but plays well on the hard courts and is coming on with a semi final showing in the Sunrish Challenger last week. He is defending a quarterfinal appearnce in Miami and plays well against left handers, as shown in a 2-0 record against Verdasco, including a win over him in this event last year. Melzer is a streaky player and looked good early in the year at the Aus Open but has really cooled off since. Tipsarevic's big serve, compact grounstrokes and returns we see taking him into the third round. |
| Mar 26, 2009 |
Simone Bolelli to beat Teimuraz Gabashvili |
1.72 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.72 (Pinnacle Sports) Bolelli has struggled this year to a 4-7 record after a sensational breakout year in 2008. But we see Bolelli being very hungry to win this match and post a 2-0 record against Gabashvili, with his other win coming over him three years ago on clay. Gabashvili is a very streaky player and has played well lately but will struggle to keep with Bolelli's consistency and slightly better skill in the serving and ground stroke department. |
| Mar 25, 2009 |
Jan Hernych to beat Brendan Evans |
1.44 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.44 (Pinnacle Sports) Hernych has been playing great the last two months with wins over Paul-Henri Mathieu and Mikhail Youzhny. His losses over this time period have been against tough guys in Djokovic twice, Hewitt, and Tsonga. He has a great atittude and work ethic and will be eager to dispose of the young American wild card. Evans has been improving his ranking and is at a career high of 148 but will be in tough. His 2-9 career record in Tour matches we like to hit the teens tomorrow in losses. |
| Mar 17, 2009 |
Marat Safin to beat John Isner |
1.83 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.83 (Pinnacle Sports) Safin is 1-0 against Isner with a straight set win over him in LA last year. Safin returns the big guns serves very well and will not be intimated by Isner's game. Isner had a big win over Monfils last round but Safin will be looking at this as a great opportunity to get deep into the first Masters Series event of the year over a player that really doesn't even compare in skill to Marat after his serve. |
| Mar 14, 2009 |
Tommy Robredo to beat Igor Kunitsyn |
1.33 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.33 (Pinnacle Sports) Tommy has had a great year so far, with two clay wins and a fourth round showing at the Aussie Open. Kunitsyn is now 3-6 in Tour events this year with his win over Spadea in the first round and his top 40 ranking is not accurate in our eyes. Kunitsyn has good fitness but doesn't have a lot of weapons and Robredo is a better baseliner. A 1-0 record for Tommy in head head, where he lost only four games to Igor in that hard court outing. |
| Mar 13, 2009 |
Michael Russell to beat Guillermo Garcia-Lopez |
1.74 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.74 (Pinnacle Sports) Michael Russell is back into big time tennis after coming back again from injury. Russell cruised through qualies and just won a Futures event previously. He is 2-1 against Garcia-Lopez, with the only loss being on clay and the two wins on hard, including one here in Indian Wells two years ago. That year, Russell got to the 4th round of this tournament. Garcia-Lopez is a talent but a flake mentally and Russell is great mentally and will have the edge on him in this regard. |
| |
Mikhail Youzhny to beat Viktor Troicki |
1.64 |
VOID |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.64 (Pinnacle Sports) Youzhny is starting to play the kind of tennis that got him into the top ten. Two quarterfinal results in the last month and good wins over Berdych and Ferrer, we feel Mikhail is simply a better hard court player in this one. Troicki has had a good year, but mainly though on carpet and faster courts. Youzhny looked great in his route of Hanescu in Davis Cup play last week and we like him to keep this form tomorrow. |
| Mar 12, 2009 |
Philip Kohlschreiber to beat Julien Benneteau |
1.57 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.57 (Pinnacle Sports) Kohlschreiber is a very solid 4-0 against Benneteau, with total sets being 9-0 in favour of Philip. Benneteau is much improved but we see Kohlschreiber taking it to Benneteau once again. |
| Feb 26, 2009 |
Mischa Zverev to beat Florent Serra |
1.74 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.74 (Pinnacle Sports) Zverev had a solid win over Taylor Dent in the first round at Del Ray Beach and is 3-0 against Serra on Tour, all straight set wins, and two of them were just last year on hard courts. Serra definitely struggles against the left hander just like Nieminen struggles against Serra, who Serra beat in the first round to go to 4-0 against him. With two quarterfinal showings in his last two tournaments, we see Zverev making it three in a row and making at least the quarters in Del Ray. |
| Feb 25, 2009 |
Albert Montanes to beat Daniel Gimeno-Traver |
1.61 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.61 (Pinnacle Sports) Montanes hasn't had a great start to the year but is a very solid clay courter that had a great year on clay in 2008. A winner in Amersfort and a quarterfinalist in Barcelona and Hamburg last year, we feel he will be able to handle the young Gimeno-Traver. Gimeno-Traver beat a winless in 2009 Lapentti in the first round and lost 5 of his last 7 matches on clay in 2008, all in Challengers. We see Montanes getting his clay season on track with a win. |
| Feb 20, 2009 |
Juan Martin Del Potro to beat Radek Stepanek |
1.65 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.65 (Pinnacle Sports) Del Potro played well against Gulbis in his last match. Juan Martin we feel will return Stepanek's serve well tomorrow and will be holding his own on the faster indoor courts. Stepanek is coming off his remarkable win in San Jose and we feel is due to cool down against one of the top six players in the world. |
| Feb 18, 2009 |
Jarkko Nieminen to beat Philipp Petzschner |
1.38 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.38 (Pinnacle Sports) Nieminen had a great run in Sydney getting to the finals with a big win over Djokovic. Jarkko lost in the first round in San Jose last week and will be hungry to snap a losing streak. Petzschner won his first title in Vienna late last season but hasn't done much of note since. He has one lone win on Tour this year and we see Nieminen winning this encounter. |
| Feb 17, 2009 |
Christophe Rochus to beat Donald Young |
1.82 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.82 (Pinnacle Sports) Rochus is a good indoor player and had a nice win over Kunitsyn last week. Young has regressed since looking to break into the top fifty around this time last year. Straight set losses this year to Ryderstedt, Spadea and Michael Russell show how he has lost the confidence that he had at the end of 2007 and into 2008. Rochus was a past finalist in Rotterdam, another indoor hard court event, and likes these conditions. We see Young continuing his struggles. |
| Feb 16, 2009 |
Chris Guccione to beat Vince Spadea |
1.61 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.61 (Pinnacle Sports) We emailed you last night about taking Guccione and his price was at what we would take him at. Two good wins in qualies over Karanusic and Delic for Guccione is impressive as Spadea has yet to win an ATP main draw match. Spadea is already eligible for the Mens 35 and over competitions and his play is showing that he might be headed there sooner than later. Vince hasn't shown much improvement in his problem area of serving and we don't see Guccione having issues breaking Spadea enough to win this one. The indoor courts in Memphis will favor Guccione's fast court game. |
| Feb 12, 2009 |
Taylor Dent to beat Todd Widom |
1.44 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.44 (Pinnacle Sports) Taylor Dent has made an incredible comeback from back surgery and a few years off from the tour. He has been quite impressive too, winning against Steve Darcis his first match back, going five sets with a much improved Delic and a very solid straight set win in the first round in San Jose over Bobby Reynolds. Widom's win over an often times unpredictable Ginepri was still very surprsing. In looking at this match, Widom only had two break points and converted on one which turned out to be all he needed. Ginepri was 1 for 9 on break points so he should have probably won. With Dent's serve, Widom is going to struggle mightily to get breaks and Dent will have his chances to break with his solid returns and chip and charge style. Dent we feel will also be very hungry to take advantage of playing the 270th ranked player in the world to get to his first ATP quarterfinal since his comeback. We see Widom's run ending in this matchup against the former 21st player in the world. |
| Feb 10, 2009 |
Denis Gremelmayr to beat Roko Karanusic |
1.78 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.78 (Pinnacle Sports) Gremelmayr is 3-1 lifetime against Karanusic including a win on carpet in straight sets at the end of 2008. Denis has had some nice wins over Delic and Kevin Anderson this year and won four matches at this San Jose tournament last year including an impressive win over Querrey before bowing out to Mardy Fish in three sets. Karanusic is a solid indoor player but we feel Gremelmayr mentally is stronger and more solid in this encounter. |
| Feb 04, 2009 |
Guillermo Garcia-Lopez to beat Leonardo Mayer |
1.62 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.62 (Pinnacle Sports) For many years, Garcia-Lopez has always played well in the first few months of the season. 3rd round of the Aussie Open last year. Nice win over Calleri there this year. Semis of San Jose last year. Mayer hasn't cracked the top 100 yet and is primarily a clay courter. His first round win over Roitman is nothing to get excited about. Garcia-Lopez is a great talent who has a great serve and big groundstrokes which we feel will prove to be too much in the altitude for Mayer. |
| Jan 24, 2009 |
Juan Martin Del Potro to beat Marin Cilic |
1.51 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.51 (Pinnacle Sports) Del Potro has started the year with a title and is playing so confidently, just like he was when he won four tournaments in a row last summer. An impressive four set win over the unorthodox and dangerous Muller last round showed how much Del Potro has matured as a player as he kept his mind while Muller swung away on his serve and forehand. Cilic had a good win over Ferrer last round and also hasn't lost this year but we feel Del Potro has an edge from the baseline and we really like how Del Potro has modified his forehand where it is more compact and consistent. They are both big servers but feel Del Potro will rise to the occasion and take out the Croatian on these slower hard courts. |
| Jan 22, 2009 |
Tommy Robredo to beat Yen-Hsun Lu |
1.33 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.33 (Pinnacle Sports) As a former quarter finalist in 2007, Robredo likes playing here. With the courts playing slowly, it is even more advantageous for him. He has looked very solid with straight set wins over Reynolds and Troicki, who he lost only four games to. Lu had that five set win over Nalbandian last round but it was an error filled match with Nalbandian producing 61 unforced errors and Lu not far behind with 60. This third round showing is Lu's best result at a Grand Slam and we feel that his run will end. Robredo beat him handily in their only meeting in 2006. The price is a bit short but we feel it will win. |
| Jan 20, 2009 |
David Ferrer to beat Dominik Hrbaty |
1.61 |
 |
| |
Bet 1 unit on 1.61 (Pinnacle Sports) Ferrer is defending a quarter final appearance in the Aussie Open from last year and has won 4 of the last 5 meetings between him and Hrbaty. Ferrer won a hard fought five set battle against Gremelmayr in the first round and was ready to go for more. One thing we love about Ferrer is he will fight until the end. Hrbaty is a great competitor too and has had a good start to the year at the Hopman Cup and coming through qualies and Isner, but he is still vulnerable outdoors with his high serving ball toss and we feel Ferrer is younger and better from the baseline. It will be a hard fought match but we see Ferrer coming through. |

Tommy Haas to beat Eduardo Schwank |
1.56 |
 |
| |
Bet 1 unit on 1.56 (Pinnacle Sports) With the hot conditions in Melbourne, Tommy Haas will be right at home with his training home being in the hot conditions in Florida. This is Tommy's best Grand Slam, having reached the semis twice and he had that great five setter with Federer in the fourth round in 2006. Actually the last time he played in Melbourne Park was when he lost to Gonzalez in the semis. Schwank is a grinder who had a breakout year last year but struggled in the last four months of the season on hard court playing below .500 tennis after August. This is the first match of the season for both but we like Tommy to take this and advance to the second round. |

Sam Querrey to beat Philip Kohlschreiber |
2.33 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 2.33 (Pinnacle Sports) Querrey played a great tournament in Auckland this week, having great wins over Almagro and Ferrer before succumbing to Del Potro. He had a great Aussie Open last year, beating Tursunov on the way to the third round. He was training hard in December with Gil Reyes, Agassi's old trainer in Las Vegas and is in great shape, which often let him down in the past. Kohlschreiber is a great player who is defending a fourth round showing here. But Querrey is 1-0 against him with a win at the US Open in straight sets in 2006 and Kohlschreiber had to withdraw in the quarters of Auckland with a shoulder injury. Even without the injury issue, we like Querrey to take this one. Great price too. |

Florian Mayer to beat Lamine Ouahab |
1.40 |
 |
| |
Bet 1 unit on 1.40 (Pinnacle Sports) Mayer is back in what looks to be very solid form after having a rough and injury plagued 2008. Mayer came through qualies convincingly, dispsing Delic in the last round of qualies 6-0, 6-7, 6-0. After starting the year with a Challenger final showing in New Caledonia, we see Mayer seeing this matchup as one he won't want to not take advantage of. He is 1-0 against Ouahab, which was a win in Casablanca on clay in straight sets. Ouahab battled through 9-7 and 8-6 wins to get through the qualies so has played some tennis but we don't see him getting past the former top 35 player in Mayer. |

Bjorn Phau to beat Brydan Klein |
1.35 |
 |
| |
Bet 1 unit on 1.35 (Pinnacle Sports) Phau came through qualies nicely and is finding his groove the last five months. Phau got to the quarter-finals of Chennai this year and the semis of Beijing, with wins over Querrey and Fernando Gonzalez. Brydan Klein got a wild card into this tournament after being a promising junior. He lost in three sets to Starace in Sydney qualies and to Berdych in Brisbane. Klein has done well in futures and decent in Challengers but has never beaten a top 100 type player. Phau was top 60 two and a bit years ago and is a crafty player who has reached the second round of this event twice. We like Phau to take out the wild card in an opportunity he will greatly be looking not to squander. |

Viktor Troicki to beat Igor Kunitsyn |
1.63 |
 |
| |
Bet 1 unit on 1.63 (Pinnacle Sports) Troicki had a great second half to the season last year including a finals appearance in Washington, which included a straight set win over Kunitsyn, and a third round showing at the US Open with a valiant effort for two sets against Nadal before succumbing. He is 2-0 against Kunitsyn and he matches up well with his powerful serve and penetrating shots. Kunitsyn is resilient and very fit but will struggle again against Viktor's firepower. We see Viktor winning this night session match. |

Robin Soderling to beat Radek Stepanek |
1.54 |
 |
| |
Bet 0.5 unit on 1.54 (Pinnacle Sports) Soderling has had a couple of impressive wins this week of a hungry Querrey and a much improved Benneteau in straight sets. The court surface is playing quickly which favours the Swede's big serve and groundstroke game. Soderling is 4-1 lifetime against Stepanek and his only loss against him was on clay. Stepanek is a great competitor but his play has dropped off a bit since the middle of last year, as he doesn't have a lot of power from the back court anymore, especially on his forehand. We like Soderling to advance. |
